Do you know what the job is really about?

Go over the job advert and our requirements. Have you got the experience and skills we're looking for? If the answer's 'yes', then read on. If it’s 'no', think again about whether the job is right for you.

Is your CV up to date?

It’s easy to submit your CV online, but make sure you’re giving us the most relevant info. Update all your personal details, as well as your latest role and responsibilities. This is your chance to prove you're right for the job, so take a step back and look at your CV objectively.

Now you’ve applied, what happens next?

You should hear from us within 10-15 working days of your application. We'll either give you a call to ask you to come for an interview, or we'll email you to let you know you haven't been successful. It can sometimes take a bit longer for us to get in touch, so please bear with us.

You’ve got an interview – how should you prepare for it?

Before we find out more about you, it makes sense for you to learn about us. Have a look around our website before your interview, and try to find all the information that you think you'll need.

Be ready to answer and ask questions

Remind yourself what's on your CV and make sure you've got a couple of examples of previous experience that you can draw on. The interview process is a two-way thing, so feel free to prepare some questions and pick our brains as well.

Allow plenty of time to get here

You never know what traffic, trains or parking will be like, so aim to arrive early. Whichever location you're coming to, there are plenty of places to get a coffee while you wait.

To check out where your nearest 3 Store is, use our Store locator. page. Or if you're going to our offices in Glasgow or Maidenhead, you can get directions.

Switch off your mobile

Even if you are with 3...

Get comfortable

If a tea or coffee will help you relax, just ask. We tend to wear whatever we feel comfortable in, so the person you're meeting may be dressed casually.

Take your time

Think about the questions before you answer them. And make sure you're clear on the process and timeframes. We'll always let you know what to expect before the interview starts.

If you’re coming for an assessment

We'll set up some tests and exercises to see if you've got the right skills for the job. We just want to get an overview of what you can do, so relax and do your best.

What happens if you don’t get an interview?

You might not be exactly what we're looking for. We'll send you an email and let you know.

If you're not sure why it didn't work out, take another look at the job description - it could be that you just don't match all the skills we need. If you don't agree, it's worth reviewing your CV to make sure you've clearly demonstrated what we're looking for.

If you still can't understand why you haven't got the job, just email us and ask for feedback. We'll reply as soon as we can, and no later than 15 working days.
