Free calls over Wi-Fi with BBM Voice.

The BBM™ service is being taken to a whole new level with the introduction of free voice calls over Wi-Fi for people subscribed to the BlackBerry® Internet Service. By downloading the forthcoming update for phones running the BlackBerry® 6 operating system or above, users will be able to take advantage of this great new feature. If you already have a BlackBerry phone from us you’ll probably have BlackBerry Internet Service as part of your plan, otherwise you can get it as an Add-on.

The well-considered functionality of this new feature means that not only will you be able to make free voice calls, you’ll also be able to continue chatting with your friends using the split-screen option. It’s perfect if you’re running low on minutes, or for when you just want to juggle conversations with a few friends at once.

If you want to try it out now, BBM version 7 with new BBM Voice is available in Beta for BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry 6 OS or higher. Just go to the Beta Zone on the BlackBerry website to download it.
