Check a call cost

You can check how much a call is likely to cost by entering the number in the box below and clicking 'Go'. If we cannot find the number you would like to call, the search will return the closest match to that number. For up to date pricing information for all numbers (including 08 numbers) please also check the Three Price Guide.

As well as standard numbers, you can call the following types of special numbers:

Freephone calls.

Calls to 0500, 0800 and 0808 numbers are free from a landline, but not from a mobile phone. If you call a freephone number from your Three phone you'll hear a message warning you that you'll be charged. These numbers usually cost 15p a minute on Three and you won’t be charged until the call is connected. Some 0800 or 0808 helpline numbers are free to call on Three.

084 and 087 numbers.

084 and 087 numbers are non-geographic numbers, which means they don't have an area code. They're usually helpdesk numbers and the maximum cost to call then from your Three phone is 20p a minute, plus 20p a call. These calls aren't included in any plan allowance you may have.

Non-standard 07 numbers.

Non-standard 07 numbers (except those beginning 070, which are personal numbers) aren't owned by any of the main network operators. These calls are charged at your standard rate (according to your price plan) and aren't included in an plan allowance you may have.

Personal numbers.

Personal numbers begin 070 and are used for services like personal alarms and private lines. They look similar to mobile phone numbers but aren’t the same. The cost of calling these numbers varies depending on how much the service provider charges. These calls aren't included in any plan allowance you may have and price details can be found in our Price Guide or by using our Special number look-up tool.

Premium rate numbers.

Premium Rate Services can be:

  • Voice calls to long numbers starting 09, where you're charged 10p per minute or more
  • Voice or video calls to short numbers, which are known as short codes (four, five or six digits long)
  • Text and picture or video messages (MMS) to and from short codes, where you are charged 25p per message or more. The cost to call these numbers will be shown alongside the number by the service provider/promoter

When you call a premium rate number you won't be warned about the charge before the call is connected. For more information, please see the  PRS code of Practice .
