Pay with your mobile.

What it does

It's a safer way of making purchases via your phone. When you buy products and services through your mobile, Payforit makes sure you know what you are about to buy, from whom and for how much.

It's not just a 3 thing. It has been created by all the mobile phone companies. It's the quickest way to buy products or services between 1p and £10 from other companies’ websites on your mobile. And it's the safest way, too. That's because it uses accredited Service Providers who manage the payments.

How to use it

First, you need to read the terms and conditions that come up on screen. After that, here's how it works:

  • You go to a website on your phone and want to buy a ringtone (just as an example). A button on the screen will say either 'Buy' or 'Pay'. Click on the appropriate button.
  • That takes you to the Payforit page where you get details like price, links to terms and conditions and a helpline number. When you subscribe to a service, it also tells you how often you have to pay.
  • You can still change your mind - just press 'Cancel'. Or, to go ahead, press 'Pay now'.
  • You get the ringtone. Payforit applies the cost to your next phone bill (or takes it out of your Pay as you Go account if you've got one).

Check what you spend

If you are a pay monthly customer, your bill will have a separate section that shows you all the things you've bought through Payforit.

At the moment, some of the accredited Service Providers can't charge money directly against your phone account for things you buy. So instead, they charge you by sending you premium rate text messages up to the exact amount of what you've bought. We know they do this- the only down side is you won't see all the details of what you buy on your bill.

Fix a problem

If you've got a problem with something you bought through Payforit, here's what to do:

  • Ring the customer care number of the place you bought it from (you’ll find the number against the transaction on your phone bill).
  • Can't find the details of what you bought? Check your text messages inbox or use the 'search' box on this page before you call the customer care number. Type in the name of the company you bought it from to get the contact details for that company.
  • If you want to stop a subscription service check your text messages inbox. You would have been sent a text message explaining how to unsubscribe.
  • Still can’t sort it? Call us.
