Lower EU roaming prices

We've lowered our EU text and internet roaming prices. And making voice calls to the UK and within the EU is better value too. It still costs 34p per minute to call the UK or any other EU country from within the EU, but the minimum charge will now only be 30 seconds instead of a minute, after which you'll be charged per second. Incoming calls still cost 15p per minute and will now have no minimum charge, so you'll just be charged by the second.

It now costs just 11p to send a text message. Receiving them is still free. Internet data is now only £1.25 per Mb. Each Mb of data is the equivalent of viewing about 100 web pages on your phone, or three pages on your PC.

Changes to international calling & roaming prices

We’ve also updated our international roaming rates, to make it easier for you to know exactly what your calls will cost.

We used to divide countries into 7 bands, and each band had corresponding roaming rates. Now we only have 3 bands, and these are: EU & selected European countries, non-EU, and the rest of the world. Within these bands there are now only one or two price variations. For example, if you’re in Italy and you call a friend within the EU it’s 34p a minute, but if you call a country in another band it’s £1.80 a minute.

In addition, there’s good news for all our lovely Pay As You Go customers. You’re now charged the same rates for roaming as our Pay Monthly customers.

  • Balance enquiry on +44 7782 333 555

  • Local emergency numbers are 112, 911 for USA & Canada
Emergency services could be staffed by operators who may not speak English.

Remember, you'll need to include international dialling codes to any numbers you use. Always put a '+' symbol in front of the number you're calling, followed by the country code. Also, take off the first digit from the area code (usually a '0'). For example, to call an 0207 London number dial +44207 followed by the rest of the number.

Before you go away...

Ensure you've activated your top up or have topped up. If you're likely to run out of credit, register your credit or debit card at My3 so you can top up when you're away. Do it at least seven days before you go. Once it's set up, you can top up and add on when you like. Simple.

Before you leave, set up your voicemail, take your charger and insure your mobile with Care3 (just in case).

When abroad, remember to add '+' and the international dialling code when you make a call E.g. to call an 0207 London number, dial +44207 followed by the rest of the number.

For charges, check out our 3 Price Guide.

In an EU country we'll text you with information on call charges for that country. You'll know the costs straight away. Choose not to receive it if you like, just text 'stop' to 330. If you decide you want the text, just text 'start' to 330.

You can also get free advice by:
