Once you've activated your roaming services with 3, you can use your mobile in over 225 countries. To see which countries you can currently use your mobile in and check prices, pick a destination from the above drop down menu.
We've lowered our EU text and internet roaming prices. And making voice calls to the UK and within the EU is better value too. It costs 38p per minute to call the UK or any other EU country from within the EU, but the minimum charge will now only be 30 seconds instead of a minute, after which you'll be charged per second. Incoming calls still cost 14p per minute and will now have no minimum charge, so you'll just be charged by the second.
It now costs just 10p to send a text message. Receiving them is still free. Internet data is now only £1.25 per Mb. Each Mb of data is the equivalent of viewing about 100 web pages on your phone, or three pages on your PC.
We’ve also updated our international roaming rates, to make it easier for you to know exactly what your calls will cost.
We used to divide countries into 7 bands, and each band had corresponding roaming rates. Now we only have 4 bands, and these are: EU & selected European countries, non-EU, Other and the rest of the world. Within these bands there are now only one or two price variations. For example, if you’re in Italy and you call a friend within the EU it’s 38p a minute, but if you call a country in another band it’s £1.80 a minute.
In addition, there’s good news for all our lovely Pay As You Go customers. You’re now charged the same rates for roaming as our Pay Monthly customers.

Remember, you'll need to include international dialling codes to any numbers you use. Always put a '+' symbol in front of the number you're calling, followed by the country code. Also, take off the first digit from the area code (usually a '0'). For example, to call an 0207 London number dial +44207 followed by the rest of the number.
Before you leave get your mobile phone ready to roam, set up voicemail, take your charger and insure your mobile (just in case...).
On our network all calls are automatically diverted to your voicemail for free when you're abroad if you don't answer or are unable to take the call. This means that you don't need to manually divert calls.
Please be aware that standard roaming charges will apply for listening to your voicemail messages when you're abroad.
If you've manually diverted calls to your voicemail or any other number, you can automatically reset your voicemail by pressing ##002#.
While abroad, remember to add '+' and the international dialling code when you call. E.g. to call an 0207 London number, dial +44207 followed by the rest of the number.

When in an EU country we'll text you with information on call charges for that country. You'll know what the costs are straight away. Choose not to receive it if you like, just text 'stop' to 330. If you decide that you want the text, just text 'start' to 330.
