What is SIM Only?
SIM Only is a SIM that doesn’t come with a phone or tablet but includes calls, text and data. If you're happy with your current phone or tablet and are not looking to get a new one, a SIM Only contract is the best option for you. It will work on any phone or tablet as long as they're unlocked or on the network you want to use the SIM on. If you get a SIM Only deal, the contract time is usually shorter, so you have the ability to compare SIM cards deals more often, which helps getting the best deal with your plan. We offer a wide range of SIM Only contracts, so you should find one that best suits your needs.
What to do with your old SIM.
Make sure anything that is saved on your SIM is backed up. This could be anything from phone contacts to text messages. Once you’ve got everything that was saved on your SIM, you should then cut up/remove the gold foil on the SIM. This prevents the SIM from working, which then makes it safe to throw away. Once done, you can throw the SIM away.
Which SIM Size do I need?
There are three SIM sizes to choose from: Standard SIM, Micro SIM and Nano SIM. Most newer phones take a Nano SIM, while the majority of older phones take a Micro SIM. Some non-smartphones do still take a Standard SIM, though. Check the box or manual of your phone to see which SIM you need.
How to keep your existing number.
It’s really easy. Simply ask your current network for your PAC (porting authorisation code) via their site or by calling them. The PAC code is given for free and is usually given within 24 hours. Once the PAC has been received, you then need to fill in the number moving form on Three and depending on the time you put through the request, your number can be ported the very next day (excluding weekends).
