Each week, we'll be highlighting a great new deal, fab freebie or mega-discount you can enjoy through our new rewards app, Wuntu. Swipe right, collect cool stuff. On us. This week, we’re making sure you’re finally the son/daughter your darling mum deserves…
Mothers deserve a lot of gratitude: they kissed our skinned knees, chauffeured us to endless weekly football matches and even cut the crusts off of our sandwiches (sometimes, they’d even make those sandwiches into the lovely heart shapes we liked so much).
And, if we’re completely honest, the only reason we happen to be wearing a freshly laundered shirt today is because mum came round last weekend and did 15 loads of laundry for us.
We love our mums. They’re there for us whenever we need them – and even at those times when we don’t realise we do.
But when it comes to reciprocating the love… well, we could improve our game a bit. Throwing a basket of dirty laundry their way is one way of saying “I love you” – but we can think of some better ones.
Especially on your mum’s special day. Sunday, March 26 – aka Mothering Sunday – is around the corner, and this year, you’re going to tell your mum you love her, from your heart.
Not only are you going to remember to pick up the phone and call her on Mother’s Day, you’re also going to give her the best present of all. No we don’t mean flowers or chocolates or bath salts, but something totally personalised: a card telling her just how much she means to you.
– Write a life history of every amazing thing your mum has ever done for you. Ever. (You may need more than one card for this).
– Keep it short, sweet and simple (You’re British, remember? Showcasing too much emotion is for the weak. And the Americans).
– Draw a family portrait à la when you were four. For a fun game, compare your actual four-year-old drawings when you are next visiting your parents and lament your missed career as a professional artist.
Order before 3pm and thortful will dispatch that day by Royal Mail 1st Class. Which means your darling mum will actually get the Mother’s Day love on time.
Move fast, because this fab deal is only on until the end of the week. But check out Wuntu every Thursday for the latest freebies and discounts on travel, dining, shopping, leisure and so much more.
