We’ve put together a round-up of some of the essential iPhone apps that will make your life So. Much. Easier. From the informative and useful, to the fun and quirky – take a look:

Uber & UberEATS (free)

Uber has revolutionised every night out we’ve ever had since 2015, and UberEATS just makes life even more convenient: order from over 100 local restaurant menus while in the back of your Uber so your pizza/burger feast gets to your door when you do.

HopperiPhone (free)

Hopper is the essential airline flight checker. As well as searching billions of flight options, it also predicts how prices will change and the best time to buy your ticket. There’s a handy calendar view that colour-codes the best days of the month to fly to any destination. And the price prediction advice explains the chances of the ticket going up or down in simple terms.

Dark SkyiPhone (£2.99)

Dark Sky is definitely one of the best weather apps out there. It uses your GPS location to give you forecasts for the coming hour. It can tell you exactly when it will rain or snow, giving you minute-by-minute forecasts – so you know if you have enough time to walk the dog or go for a run before it starts chucking it down.

Strava iPhone (free)

If you’re serious about running or cycling, then Strava is the iPhone app for you. It allows you to track your performance, set goals and see daily progress updates. There are leader boards and challenges to give it a competitive edge, and if you’re ever not sure where to run or cycle, you can find user-created routes on the app, or share your own.

FIFA – iPhone (free)

Footy fans will be especially keen to download this iPhone-only app. It’s a digital magazine featuring news, interviews and scores. And every Friday a new issue will download to the app automatically, so you’ve got all the info you need for the weekend fixtures.

Sleep Better iPhone (free)

Sleep Better is a smart alarm clock and sleep cycle tracker from Runtastic. If you place your iPhone (while running the app) on your bed, it reacts to your movement during the night, and collects the data. In the morning you’ll see graphs showing your sleeping pattern. It’s also compatible with HealthKit, so you can view all your sleep data with the Health app and share it with other third-party apps.

Super Mario Run iPhone (first three levels free, then £7.99 to finish)

Your fave game from the 90s is back in a big way. Haters complain that you can’t play the game unless you’re connected to the Internet (and feel £7.99 is a bit steep) but Mario fans can’t get enough of their fave Italian plumber collecting gold coins and battling Bowser – this time with clever one-handed taps and swipes.

Google Photos iPhone (free)

There are loads of photo apps around, but Google Photos is a winner because you get unlimited storage for photos and videos, all for free. On top of this, it gives you basic editing tools and the option to make collages and albums. Check out Snapped, too; this is Google’s own photo editor that’s been designed to make tweaking your snaps on a touchscreen easier. And don’t miss out on Google Drive, too  – so you can work and keep track off all of your docs on the go.

Deezer iPhone (free)

From the latest Top 40 picks to obscure unsigned bands, Deezer turns your phone into a pocket jukebox with over 43 million tunes to choose from. Compile and share your own playlists, or use the Flow feature to blend your own choices with tracks Deezer thinks you might like – basically it’s an interruption-free radio station programmed just for you. Our top tip: pair it with Go Binge and you can stream those tunes from dawn until dusk without using up any of your data.

WuntuiPhone (free)

“I don’t want free stuff,” said no one. Ever. Which is why we’ve brought you our mega-discount and rewards app, Wuntu, which will send you to exotic destinations, give you free concerts, let you get your home appliances 40% off and so much more. Just check back every Wednesday for all of the updated offers.
