Acoustic sets in the 3Stores

20/01/08

Post by: Buffalo '77

Thanks to all who have downloaded our single so far! We had an awesome time playing our acoustic sets in the 3Stores in Leeds, Chesterfield and Camden on the 16th Jan. The chopper flight to London was a little bumpy so it was a relief to get safely back on the ground (though it was obviously a step up from our usual hired Transit van)!

Jay was very quiet during the flight, especially after asking why there were no flight safety manuals - "cos there’s nothing you can do!" said John the pilot.

Once we got to Battersea Heliport (and Jay had changed his pants) we had a quick flick through the Guest Book and noticed Tom Cruise’s signature and Sting & The Police’s entries on the eve of their Twickenham gig! One day, one day...!

Our current single, ‘Won’t Forget’, is available on digital download from all the usual places including 3MusicStore - so there’s no excuse for you not to have got your hands on a copy - you can even check out our video featuring Green Wing actor Julian Rhind-Tutt on this very website.

We’ve been rehearsing for our gig tonight at the Barfly in Camden where we’ll be playing two new songs. After playing so many acoustic shows it will be good to get back on stage and give it some beans again! We’ll let you know how it goes...

See you soon!

Artist Biography

2007's 3 First Cut Awards put Buffalo '77 well and truly on the new music map. Their blend of indie rock and infectious rhythms won over the competitions' judging panel of record label execs and renowned XFM DJ Marsha Shandur – no easy crowd to please.

And the band's fate was sealed after they played a knock-out gig to a packed ULU in London at the 3 First Cut Awards Grand Final last summer, where they were awarded a stand-out package to help them break into the industry.

Now, with their first single, 'Won't Forget', in the bag and an album's worth of material on the way the Buffalo '77 boys are finding their diaries filling up with gig dates, and are receiving accolades from the likes of Radio 1's Steve Lamaq. Their first video even stars Green Wing actor Julian Rhind-Tutt – now that's rock 'n' roll!

Formed in Chesterfield in 2006 through a common love of creating and performing music, the band consists of brothers Pete (drums) and Graham Ainge (keyboards), and lead vocalist and guitarist Jay Leighton. As part of their prize, the band are now signed to Fallout Recordings. And they're in good company. The label is also home to the Fratellis and the Rumble Strips.
