eSIM Activation
How can I activate my eSIM?
If you have a QR code from Three, follow the instructions below. If you don't have a QR code, you can find more information here.
Before following the below steps, remember to ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on your device.
Step 1
Open your Camera app and point it steady for 2-3 seconds towards the QR code.
Step 2
When the Cellular Plan Detected notification appears, tap it.
Step 3
Tap Continue at the bottom of the screen and then select Add Cellular Plan.

How does the QR code work?

QR stands for quick response. Your phone's camera has a built-in QR reader, so you just need to scan the QR code during the setup of your phone.
This will securely send information to Three to allow us to add the eSIM to your phone. -
I can't scan the QR code on my iPhone

If the camera is broken or you can’t scan the QR code for any reason, you can enter the details manually.
Follow the below steps:
1. Make sure the device is connected to Wi-Fi.
2. Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Add Data Plan.
3. From there, select 'Enter Details Manually' and fill in the relevant fields with the information on the eSIM packaging.
4. SM-DP+ Address: LPA:1$huk.prod.ondemandconnectivity.com$
5. Activation code: this is the 64 digit code found on your eSIM packaging.
6. Confirmation code: You can leave this blank -
I can't scan the QR code on my Google Pixel

If the camera is broken or you can't scan the QR code for any reason, you can enter the details manually.
Follow the below steps:
1. Make sure the device is connected to Wi-Fi.
2. In the ‘Scan QR code from network’ screen select 'Need Help'. In the 'Help adding a network' screen underneath 'Having trouble scanning your QR code', select 'Enter it manually'.
3. You'll be taken to the 'Add network provider' screen.
You need to follow the below instructions exactly, otherwise it won’t work, so be careful when typing in the details:
1. Start by typing: 1$
2. Then type: NEED TO ENTER THE SM-DP+ CODE
3. Then type: $
4. Finally, there is a 64 digit code on your eSIM pack. Enter the code without any spaces making sure to use the same case for letters.
5. Tap on 'Continue'
Once completed, you should be taken to a screen showing Three with an Activate button. Select Activate to complete the process.
If you don’t get the screen asking you to activate, try inputting the details again to ensure no errors were made. If you’re still having issues, get in touch. -
Troubleshooting eSIM issues

Sometimes when you first try to active your eSIM, one of the following error messages can show:
- The user subscription is not associated with the QR code
- There is no connection between the device and server
You need to be on a network or Wi-Fi to download the eSIM information, so ensure your Wi-Fi is switched on. If this hasn’t solved the issue, please wait 2 hours and try scanning the QR code again.
