Learn about how we use data to improve our marketing.

Personalising our services

We want to bring you the best customer experience, including personalised products, services, and promotions. The better we know you and how you use your device and our services, the better we can serve you. We may also match and combine this information with information provided to us by third parties who have your consent to share your information.

Location

If we know where you use your device, it can help us improve our network and other services where you need it. We’ll collect this information from your IP address, your device’s GPS, or other sensors like Wi-Fi or masts.

Web Browsing

We collect and store information about your internet use using cookies and similar technologies. We use this information to better understand you and your interests to bring you products and discounts we know you’ll love.

Our strategic partners

We work with some amazing brands to bring you offers and rewards. From time to time, we’ll send you texts and emails about them. But rest assured – we never share your information with these brands.

Relevant digital ads

Advertising is the backbone of the internet. It’s what funds your favourite apps and websites and keeps them free to use. Advertisers define who they want to reach based on factors such as interests, age, and location. As such, we want to be open about who we share your data with. We work with trusted partners Zeotap and Emodo to try and make the ads you see as relevant as possible.

Tailored comms from our brand family

Interested in cool offers from brands like Superdrug, Savers and the Perfume Shop? Three is part of the same family of companies, and by combining the information we know about you and our sister companies, we can bring you fantastic new products and great discounts we think you’ll like. In addition, we’ll combine your information with other data sources from the group to improve products and services for you and the community.

Combining anonymised data

We may share depersonalised or aggregated data with third parties for analysis and insight in relation to your use of our network and its services. For example, we might provide transport companies with information about when it’s least busy in certain locations to help them more efficiently plan construction. We might also provide energy suppliers with information about large numbers of people travelling or appearing in a particular area so energy resources can be managed more efficiently. You can opt out any time by sending an email to optout.bigdata@three.co.uk.
