Frequently asked questions

eero is a mesh Wi-Fi system that delivers a hyper fast, super secure and reliable Wi-Fi network to cover your whole home.

Setting up your eero is simple. The eero app will take you through a step-by-step set up process, helping you to identify the very best places in your home to place your eero devices so that you get maximum Wi-Fi coverage.

You'll plug your first eero device into your Three Home Broadband hub to get it connected to the internet. That eero will then send internet signal to the other eero devices around your home, creating a mesh W-Fi system from eero to eero, giving you strong, reliable Wi-Fi in every room.

Unlike traditional Wi-Fi extenders, the eero mesh Wi-Fi system behaves as one unified network, so you won’t need to change passwords or connect to separate eero devices as you move through your home.

Yes. The eero devices are designed to be used to strengthen and extend your Wi-Fi coverage. They work together to create mesh Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home to suit your needs and your space. You’ll only need to connect once to your main network on your devices and then these devices will automatically pick up signal as you move around your home.

Yes, the eero device is effectively a router that acts to extend the signal from your main broadband hub. It sends that signal to other eero devices around your home to create your mesh Wi-Fi network and deliver whole home coverage.

2 eero devices can provide up to 3,000 sq. ft of coverage (1,500 sq. ft per device).

eero supports WPA2 PSK AES network security, the most secure standard currently available. eero Secure is included as standard with Three’s offering, providing additional virus protection and more to every connected device in your home.

A mesh Wi-Fi network is a group of connectivity devices, such as Wi-Fi routers, that act as a single network. This means there are multiple sources of connectivity around your house instead of just a single router. Unlike other traditional Wi-Fi extenders, you won’t need to select different routers or to connect to as you move around your home. The eeros will work together as a single network, keeping you seamlessly connected at all times.

Mesh Wi-Fi works by using two or more mesh Wi-Fi devices to create a mesh Wi-Fi network. One eero mesh Wi-Fi device is connected to your internet modem (your Three Home Broadband hub), while the rest can be placed throughout your home to create a powerful wireless network. Unlike traditional routers, these eero devices are all part of the same network and share the same SSID and password. This makes setting and scaling up your mesh network as easy as adding another eero device.

eero devices communicate with each other to determine the fastest connection for your devices, rerouting traffic in the unlikely instance that one eero device fails.

Your eero app will tell you where to place your eero device for the best coverage in your home.

eero is purpose-built to help you extend your Wi-Fi range. You’ll be guided through the simple setup process by the eero app which will tell you exactly where to place your eero devices for maximum Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home. So if you need to extend Wi-Fi to your garage, bathroom, bedroom, attic, basement - no problem. eero will help you make that happen in a few easy steps.

The eero app will help you place your eero pods to reach the places in your home you need Wi-Fi.

So if you need to extend Wi-Fi to your garage, bathroom, bedroom, attic, basement - no problem. eero will help you make that happen in a few easy steps.

eero does not have built-in speakers, but eero will help transmit your Wi-Fi further around your home so that you’ll get stronger connections to any compatible music or audio devices you choose.

How many eeros you need will depend on the size of your home and the area you’d like to cover. Each eero can cover a distance of up to 1,500 sq. Ft or 139 sq. metres of coverage. We provide 2 eeros as an add-on with your Three Home Broadband, however you can purchase and add additional eeros to your network as and when you need them.

A Wi-Fi booster or Wi-Fi extender is a device that repeats the wireless signal from your router (your Three Home Broadband hub) to expand its coverage. It functions as a bridge, capturing the Wi-Fi from your broadband hub and rebroadcasting it to areas where the Wi-Fi is weak or non-existent, improving the performance of your home Wi-Fi.
