For your phone to be 5G Ready, it needs to be 5G compatible. In other words, it needs to be a 5G phone, not a 4G one. To check this on your Android phone, head to Settings then Network & internet. And for Apple iPhones, go to Settings, Mobile Data, then Mobile Data Options.

You’ll need a 5G phone to connect to 5G. You can’t access it using a 4G phone. That’s the only thing you’ll need though. All our SIMs are 5G Ready as standard, so you won’t need a new one. An automatic software update will do the rest. Then, as long as you’re in one of our 5G areas, you can enjoy 5G at no extra cost.

Yes, they can. As you move around, your phone will seamlessly connect to 4G if 5G is not available, and vice versa, depending on which offers the best connection in your location.

You can get 5G on your phone if you have a 5G device and you’re in one of our 5G areas. It’s as simple as that. Check 5G coverage.

Most new phones are now made for 5G. You can find devices from  Apple,  Samsung,  Google, Motorola, HONOR, Xiaomi, and Nokia that are 5G compatible.

The majority of the phones available from Three are 5G Ready. But we do still have a small number of 4G phones available, so make sure you check the specs before you buy.

All iPhones since the iPhone 12 series are 5G enabled.

All Samsung Galaxy phones since the S10 are now 5G enabled. Samsung Flip and Fold phones since the Flip3 and Fold3 are compatible with 5G. There are some Samsung A series phones that are 4G only, so it is worth checking the specs first before you buy.

All Google Pixel phones since the Google Pixel 4a are 5G enabled.

  • Apple Intelligence

    Apple Intelligence will be available in beta on all iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, with Siri and device language set to U.S. English, as an iOS 18 update in October 2024. UK English support available December 2024. Some features and additional languages will be coming over the course of the next year.
