Want a different destination?

There are a few things to check before you go abroad.

Roaming charges.

United States is a Feel At Home destination.

This means you can use your device there at no extra cost. Calls and texts back to the UK and using data will come out of your existing Pay Monthly allowance, if you have one. If you've gone over your allowance, you'll pay special lower roaming rates, or you can buy an Add-on in My3.

Visiting the EU? Use as much data as you like with a Euro Internet Pass.

If you're worried about data roaming charges when you're in the EU, we recommend getting a Euro Internet Pass Add-on. You can get all-you-can-eat data for £5 a day, and you won't have to worry about coming home to a big bill from standard data roaming charges.

Buying a Euro Internet Pass

You're visiting a Feel At Home destination. This means that your data will come out of your UK allowance so we wouldn't recommend most people buy a Euro Internet Pass in United States. If you have used up your UK allowance or you don't have one, it's usually cheaper to buy a UK Add-on and then use the data allowance from that. If you buy an all-you-can-eat data Add-on, you can use up to 25GB a month in Feel At Home destinations.

We'd only recommend getting Euro Internet Pass in United States if you've used up your UK allowance or you don't have one and, for some reason, you don't want to buy any of our UK Add-ons.

Check roaming is turned on in your account

International roaming will be activated automatically on your Pay Monthly account if you have a phone account. If you are on a SIM plan, it will be activated as soon as you've had your account with us for 30 days and you've paid your first bill. You can check whether international roaming is activated by going to your My3 account either on your computer or on your phone:

  1. Go to your International Settings section in My3.
  2. Log in using your phone number and password.
  3. You'll find the information under the "Using your phone abroad" and "Using your internet abroad" sections.

You'll also need to make sure that data roaming is turned on in your device's settings if you want to use data abroad.
