These terms and conditions effective from 1st June 2009
These terms apply to customers on 3Pay, Flat12 and WePay Tariffs.
Your 3 SIM card
Your SIM card can only be used in a 3G handset. If the SIM card is not used in one of our 3G mobile phones, then you may not be able to access some or all of our services. The SIM must not be used in a 2G handset. If your SIM does initially connect to the network in a 2G mobile it will be detected after a short period, will be updated, and will no longer work in that handset. Put your SIM card back into a 3G handset to continue using 3 services.
Free Skype Calls and instant messages
Free Skype calls and messages are Skype-to-Skype calls and messages made from the UK with a Skype-compatible mobile. Pay As You Go customers can make free Skype-to-Skype calls and send free instant messages without ever needing to top-up.
Free Text Messages
Inclusive Free Text Messages are applied immediately on Top-Up and remain valid for 90 days. After 90 days, any texts remaining from the free allowance will be lost.
Unlimited free texts with Top-up of £25 or more subject to a fair use policy.
Double Free Texts Online. Top-ups of £10, £15 and £20 performed via My3 online or on handset give double the free text allowance compared to Top-ups bought elsewhere. Subject to registering a valid credit or debit card.

Free Internet Use
Free internet allowance is applied immediately on Top-up and remains valid for 90 days. After 90 days any remaining internet allowance is lost. Subject to an allowance of 150MB for 90 days. Internet use charged at 30p per MB once inclusive allowance is used up.
Free Windows Live Messenger
Free Windows Live Messenger allowance is valid for messages sent from the UK to other Windows Live Messenger users anywhere in the world, using Windows Live Messenger on a mobile phone or computer.
Windows Live Messenger use is free when accessed via the on-handset application, not via the mobile internet which will use up your data allowance. Handset dependant and subject to downloading the Windows Live Messenger application from the 3 network.
Call Phones Abroad on Skype
Unlimited international calls from Skype are for calls from Skype to standard international landlines in selected countries (excluding the country you’re calling from). This is subject to buying Skype credit or a Skype calling subscription direct from Skype at Skype.com. A fair use policy applies to this Skype product.
Top-ups
Where a Top-up is bought in store and a 16-digit code provided, the Top-up needs to be activated within 90 days of buying it. Once activated, Top-ups have no expiry date.
Add-ons
To convert a Top-up to an Add-on, you need to have an active Top-up. Once an Add-on is activated, it is valid for 30 days. Activation starts as soon as you have converted a Top-up to an Add-on. After 30 days, any inclusive value will be lost. Exceptions to this 30 days rule are Internet Daily, which is valid for 24 hours, and Internet Weekly which is valid for 7 days from activation.
Add-ons are non-refundable.
3 reserves the right to suspend, modify or withdraw Add-ons, without notice, at any time.
Add Text
Inclusive anytime, any network text messages are standard text messages sent within the UK to other standard UK mobiles. Each text message can accommodate 160 characters. Some handsets allow for more. Messages exceeding the limit will be divided and sent in numerous messages (depending on length), with each message being charged at the standard rates or deducted from your credit.
Add Internet
Add Internet Add-ons are available directly from your handset. Select Add Internet on My3. Internet Daily costs 50p and gives unlimited internet browsing on your phone for 24 hours from purchase. Fair use policy applies.
Internet Weekly costs £2.50 and gives unlimited internet browsing on your phone for 7 days from purchase. Fair use policy applies.
Internet Monthly costs £5.00 and gives unlimited internet browsing on your phone for 30 days from purchase. Fair use policy applies.
Add TV
Add-TV Add-on is available directly from your handset and gives you unlimited access to a selection of 5 TV channels. Select TV on My3. Fair use policy applies.
NTS Calls
NTS calls (beginning 08) excluded from bundle & maximum cost is 20p connection plus 20p per min thereafter. See three.co.uk/nts or 3’s Price Guide for further information.
Starter Top-up
New customers who have purchased a handset or a SIM only with a built in Starter Top-up will need to use their Starter Top-up within 60 days of activation (activation occurs at the first chargeable usage event). Any unused credit remaining after 60 days will expire.
No usage policy
Pay As You Go customers are required to use their account (whether it be chargeable or free, including Skype usage) once every 180 days, or we reserve the right to terminate or suspend their service.
£10 credit to port your number
Bring your mobile number to us and you'll get £10 credit as a Thank You. It usually takes us around two working days to transfer your number. We’ll let you know when we’ve applied the £10 Pay As You Go credit to your account. It’ll be within 30 days of successful number transfer as long as your account is topped-up during that 30 day period.*
*Only one £10 credit per number transferred and only two £10 credits permitted per household.
If you're on Pay As You Go on Three
Bring your mobile number to us and you'll get £10 credit as a Thank You. It usually takes us around two working days to transfer your number. We’ll let you know when we’ve applied the £10 Pay As You Go credit to your account. It’ll be within seven days from when your number was transferred successfully. One £10 credit applied to Pay As You Go account upon successful number transfer. Only one £10 credit per number transferred and only two £10 credits permitted per household.
Voicemail
Voicemail is charged at 15p per minute whilst in the UK.

3Pay
3Pay tariff available to new customers and existing customers who opt-in to 3Pay tariff. Rates are for calls from the UK to standard rate UK landlines beginning with 01, 02, 03 and UK mobiles & for texts sent in the UK to standard UK mobiles. Existing customers can opt in to 3Pay tariff via My3 on their handset or PC or by calling 444 for free from their 3 phone.
Free 3-to-3 calls
Free 3-to-3 calls apply to calls made to other mobile phone users on the 3 network, on calls made from the UK. Subject to a fair use policy of 5000 mins every 90 days.
Flat12 terms and conditions.
These terms apply to customers on Flat12 Tariff Only
Flat12
Flat12 tariff available to existing Pay As You Go customers who connected and opted in before 1st June 2009. Rates are for calls from the UK to standard rate UK landlines beginning with 01, 02, 03 and UK mobiles & for texts sent in the UK to standard UK mobiles.
Stretch
Stretch is only available to customers who are on the Flat12 tariff and convert a Top-up to a Stretch bundle. Stretch bundles are valid for 30 days. Inclusive units are for calls from the UK to standard rate UK landlines beginning with 01, 02, 03 and UK mobiles & for texts sent in the UK to standard UK mobiles. NTS calls (beginning 08) excluded from bundle & maximum cost is 20p connection plus 20p per min thereafter (see three.co.uk/nts).
Double and triple your minutes and texts
Double minutes and texts claim based on full utilisation of Stretch15 compared to using £15 Top-up on Flat12. Triple minutes and texts claim based on full utilisation of Stretch20 compared to using £20 Top-up on Flat12 or full utilisation of Stretch25 compared to using £25 Top-up on Flat 12.
WePay terms and conditions
These terms apply to customers on WePay Tariff Only
WePay
WePay tariff available to existing Pay As You Go customers who connected and opted in before 17th October 2007. Rates are for calls from the UK to standard rate UK landlines beginning with 01, 02, 03 and UK mobiles & for texts sent in the UK to standard UK mobiles.
When you answer a call, we pay you 5p per minute. When you receive a text, we pay you 2p a message.
To be entitled to cash credits for incoming calls and texts you must activate an eligible Top-up (Add-ons are not eligible).
Only incoming calls and texts during the first 30 days from Cash Credit Top-up activation will qualify for the reward if you are in credit.
New customers who have purchased a handset with a built in 30 day expiry Starter Top-up will be eligible for cash credits from incoming calls and texts during the first 30 days from activation of the handset.
Certain incoming calls and texts are excluded. Exclusions include video calls, messages sent from websites, calls from 3 customer service and operation centres and text messages from non-UK customers overseas. Incoming cash credits may be delayed whilst you are roaming abroad with your handset or you are using your phone outside the 3G coverage area.
Subject to the other conditions, a cash credit will be credited to your account for each whole minute. Calls are rounded down to the nearest minute. You can see the credits you are accumulating each day (accessible on My3 on your handset or online). The reward balance will be updated within 24 hours.
Once you have accumulated cash credits within the 30 day period you will have 30 days to claim them. To claim cash credit, simply activate another eligible Cash Credit Top-up. Once activated the cash credit will be used up first and if not used will expire after 30 days.
The cash credit will be capped up to the value of the Cash Credit Top-up or £20 (whichever is the lower)
SIM only pack terms and conditions
3 may discontinue the 3 Pay As you Go Service either by giving you 30 days notice or if for any reason we are unable to provide you with access to another operator's network which we need to provide this Pay As You Go service. SIM-only packs must not be used in 2G-only handsets.
You may have received a message from 3 advising you to switch your SIM to one of our mobiles, as you may have been using it in a non approved 2G mobile. We want you to continue to use 3's great services, so you need to use it in a 3 mobile. If you don't have one you can go to a local 3 store to purchase one or purchase one online.
