Data charges

Update for iOS users

Accessing zero-rated websites will use your data allowance if you’re using iCloud Private Relay.

If you have Unlimited data included in your plan or you’re using one of our Unlimited Data Add-ons, good news. We’ll never charge you more than your monthly bill for using data.

If you’re not on an Unlimited plan, you don’t need to worry about going over your allowance accidentally. Once you’ve used up your monthly data, you’ll need to buy an Add-on or change price plan to use more. We’ve done this so you won’t spend more than you mean to.
We’ll text you when you’ve used 80% and 100% of your allowance, so you shouldn’t run out unexpectedly.

Older or Pay As You Go plans won’t have this cap, so you’ll need to keep an eye on your usage. You can check your allowance on the Three app or in your My3 account. If you go over your allowance, you can check our price guide to see what you’ll be charged.

Note: This doesn't apply to Mobile Broadband plans.

Out of Bundle charges

Our prices for anything not included in your allowance are listed here. You shouldn’t be charged for data outside of your allowance because of the way our plans are designed. However, if you want to check our data prices, you can check your price guide.

The table below shows any charges for out of allowance activity. This includes minutes outside or over your allowance, and international calls. International call charges apply when you call another country from the UK and are separate to Go Roam charges.

Data charges abroad

For Pay Monthly customers who joined or upgraded on or after 1 October 2021, there’s a daily roaming charge to unlock your UK allowances for 24 hours in Go Roam destinations. The charge starts when you use any of your allowances in a Go Roam destination including making calls, sending texts, or using data. It’s £2 in Go Roam in Europe and £5 in Go Roam Around the World destinations. This will not affect Pay Monthly customers whose plan started before 1 October 2021, or Pay As You Go customers. Republic of Ireland and Isle of Man are excluded from the daily roaming charge. Fair use policies apply, see our Go Roam FAQs for more information.

To help you manage your roaming costs when you’re travelling, we’ll text you information about roaming rates for each country you visit. We’ve also set up a worldwide data roaming limit of £45 to stop you spending too much. If you’d prefer you can have this limit removed or changed by contacting Three Customer Services.

If you’re not in a Go Roam destination or don’t have Go Roam, you’ll be charged our standard roaming rates. You can find out these rates on our destination pages.

If you live close to the Northern Irish border, you may sometimes roam onto a Republic of Ireland network without meaning to; this is called inadvertent roaming. Please see important information about our inadvertent roaming policy.
