Moving to Three

Whether you'd like to keep your old number or start afresh with a new one, here's everything you need to know about moving over to Three.

Moving to Three with your old number – getting a PAC code

Want to bring your number over to Three? No problem – you’ll need a Port Authorisation Code (PAC) from your old network. Just get in touch with them, and they’ll send it to you.

Your PAC will be a 9-character code, made up of 3 letters and 6 numbers. It’ll be valid for 30 days. You can pick the date you’d like your number transferred – excluding weekends and bank holidays. If it’s after 18:00, you won’t be able to pick the next day.

Once you’ve used your PAC, your old account with your previous network will be closed automatically.

For your security, we can only transfer your number over if you're the account holder or an authorised contact. The same goes for any change or cancellation requests once everything's underway. A third-party store can make a request to transfer your number for you, but we'll need to confirm you've given them the all-clear.

Remember: until we've transferred your number over from your old network, you'll need to use the number you get with your Three SIM.

What to do with your PAC

Once you’ve got your PAC all you need to do is fill in our PAC request form. We’ll take care of the rest.

Moving to Three with a new number – getting a STAC code

Prefer a brand-new number when you move to us? Get a Service Termination Authorisation Code or STAC from your old network. All you need to do is send them a text. Once you’ve used your STAC, your account with your previous network will be closed automatically.

Your STAC will be a 9-character code, made up of 6 numbers and 3 letters. It’ll be valid for 30 days, and you can pick any transfer date during that time – excluding weekends and bank holidays. But, if it’s after 18:00, you won’t be able to pick the next day.

What to do with your STAC code

Once you’ve got your STAC, just fill in our STAC request form and we’ll do the rest.

Rescheduling or cancelling a number transfer

Changed your mind? No worries. You can reschedule or cancel your number transfer at any point until 5pm on the working day before it's due to happen (excluding weekends and bank holidays).

To make a change, open the Three app or log in to your account then follow these steps:

  1. Select the transfer request you see on your dashboard
  2. Hit Cancel transfer
  3. Click Cancel transfer again to confirm the cancellation

Once you've done that, you can check the status of your request in the Three Pay As You Go app or your account online.
